The Shins: Wincing the Night Away

The Shins' unique indie rock sound began in 1997 as a simple side project, but it soon became clear the band was worthy of the members' full time and attention, and they released several singles and began touring with Modest Mouse. Their debut album, Oh, Inverted World, was received with critical acclaim, and followed rapidly by a second release and then a third. Members of The Shins describe one of their career highlights as playing at the infamous Hollywood Bowl in the summer of 2006. Wincing the Night Away debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 album chart, selling a record-breaking 118,000 copies in its first week alone.
